Hestvöllr (Horseland) is the name given by its human tribes to the area surrounding both the river Breiðrfloda and Breiðrfloda’s tributaries. On the move every few weeks to find better pasture for their herds, the tribes of Hestvöllr return at least annually to the trade cities of Norðkjop, Eohsaetr, and Krosstad. There, caravans from Onllwyn and Berystum bring spices and finished goods in exchange for the high-quality furs, leathers, fine wool, and horses produced by the Horse Peoples. Of the same stock as those along the northern bay Hvalr Vik, the tribes of Hestvöllr remember still the slowness with which the men of Bhenor responded to the Orcs who occupied their lands at the end of the Second Empire. While the men of the ‘south’ eventually aided in pushing the Orcs back to Mizimînbad, there is not much love lost between Hestvöllr and Bhenor.
