Campaign of the Month: April 2014
The Gnomes are a sibling-race to the Dwarves, though it is not known which descended from which, or whether they both came from a common ancestor. Gifted with a stronger sense of magic than the stone-sensing Dwarves, Gnomes are often thought to perhaps be a child-race of Dwarves intermingled with Elves (though a strong argument on how or why that might have occurred has not been presented). As a race which minds neither sun nor dark, the Gnomes are the great traders of the south, enabling the Dwarves to thrive in their subterranean halls while bringing Dwarven finery to all of Tyellador. The Elves are on good terms with the Gnomes, and value both the Gnomic trade and their entertaining natures. The Gnomes are also responsible for the Dwarves’ connections with human trade, and often exchange goods with the nomadic tribes of Rúfshin Desert. Though not a seafaring people as the Elves and Humans are, the Gnomes maintain a port city in the south, and were responsible for inspiring the Elves to support the Great Bridge connecting Kibilînbad and Eldamar.
In this world, there are no halflings. There are, however, non-magical gnomes. One finds their statistics and capabilities to be very similar to that of the rumoured “halflings”.
